COMMENTS ON THE OBJECT :

NGC 4565 is a large spiral galaxy seen from the edge, located in the constellation Berecine’s Hair. It is located between 38 million and 56 million light years from the Milky Way.

Because of the very thin appearance of the disc, it is also known as the “needle galaxy”. Its estimated diameter is similar to that of the Milky Way, about 100,000 light-years.

Ngc 4565 was discovered by the German-British astronomer William Herschel in 1785.
